I need a new phone from verizon wireless!?

OK! I need a new phone pretty bad! It still works but i just want a new phone! My 2 year contract is not up for another year, and i don't have any insurance on it! When i went there they told me it would cost $300 to get a new cheap phone! WHAT? Is there any way around this? I dont care what i have 2 do i just want a new phone!
