I was recently "laid off" from a small marketing company after myself and several others realized that we are being screwed out of thousands of dollars accross the country. We are a lead-generating company that is backed by Smart Circle (a multi-billion dollar company). We are supposed to be paid by USHS (home depot) for the leads/sales we generate for them. However we recently discovered that we are not only not being paid for the work we do, but USHS and/or smart circle has been fraudulantley claiming our leads to have not "held up" and instead have been keeping the money for themselves. When we started uncovering what has been going on, all accross the country, hundreds of employees being scammed, all of the sudden we are picked off one by one as being "laid off" or fired, or provoked to quit. We do have documentation proving some of this and there is a huge paper trail in this scheme. We would need a very good laWyer b/c this would put home depot and a few other companies on the front page of the news....... I myself was just asked to "take a break" until I have my baby in 5 weeks. I have been employed for over 6 mos and it is very convenient how they did it.
