i have had this car for along time. i have taken care of it and just spent $1300 getting cv joints, brakes, rotors, tires, windshield wipers, fuel filter, oil change, etc. it is a standard and when i drive it, it acts like it doesnt wanna go. and after i drive it for a few miles the check engine light comes on. now, let me try to explain what it does the best i know how.....i push the gas and it sounds like its bogged down. it jerks like its not getting gas. i either smell gas or exhaust. not sure which one it is. i thought it was the fuel filter but i got it replaced. i have had people tell me the gas lines need to be blown out, there is trash in the gas tank, it sounds like the oxygen sensor. i know you cant diagnose this online, but if i could get your opinions, i would really appreciate it. also, i drove it about 15 miles the other day and on the highway it goes pretty well in 4th gear but every so many miles it would start to slow down and i have to pump the gas pedal for it to get back up to 60 mph. i took it to autozone for a diagnostic test but they dont have a machine for any year model under 1996. i just want an idea of what this is and how much it might cost to fix it. if you have any questions, just email me at [email protected]. thank you so much.
