i need a good distortion guitar pedal?

I have an Epiphone giutar and a spider IV 15 watt and it has a drive setting i need a destortion pedal good for me because iv been playing for a couple of years but now i want to go farther i like the boss mega distortion but hate the ds1 any ideas for a distortion pedal that works for rock and hard rock also heavy metal
