i may have a vacuum leak in my car ?

I think i may have a vacuum leak in my car but im not 100% sure. my car does idle very rough at times and once my engine gets started its also idles very very low. i have also noticed that when im driving my car i hear like a hissing whistle noise comming from my engine would this be a vacuum leak ? and if so can i still drive the car or not ? thanx guys
