about transmission problems? Well, I think that the question says it all, but here is a little more detail:
I need a (reliable) vehicle with a wide third-row seat that can fit three child booster seats on it side-by-side. I don't want a full-size van, and most minivans are too narrow in the third row for this. However, the Odyssey seems to fit the bill.
I am considering buying a 2002 Honda Odyssey EX with only 42,000 miles on it. I've run the VIN and gotten a good report back on it. It seems to be in very good condition, but I'll certainly have a mechanic look it over before sealing the deal.
However, I am a bit nervous about the transmission problems that I read that this vehicle can have. Assuming that the transmission passes my mechanic's inspection, what can I do to decrease the likelihood that I will have these problems? Obviously I know to drive it carefully, no sudden changes from drive to reverse, etc. But is there anything else I need to do that will make a significant difference?
