I notice a while back some neighbors/hacker was leeching off my internet!
So I went into my linkys router & disabled SSID broadcasting, turned of remote management & disabled use off my router from wireless users around me.
Now that I have down all that....and have the ethernet cord plugged into my computer & turning off my wireless signal.
before you ask my router is password protected, & WPA-2
What i would like to know is answers to these several questions..
1. Since i made my wireless router wired, is it possible for neighbors to still be able to leech off my internet?
2. If a neighbor knows your computer Mac address, what is the worse they can do with it?
3. besides mac address clone, disabling SSID brodacast, making a long strong password, having a network key....What other ways can you secure a wireless router turned into wired????
4. if my wireless router is now wired...Is my network still being transmitted in the air??
5. Can NETSTUMBLER (normally what hackers use) still see a my wired network, when i am connected to the internet??????????
