so Ive decided to buy new forks and ive found a few i like but the millimeters are different. how do i kno how many millimeters it has to be? what is the millimeters size and how do i know how big or small it has to be. there are 80 90 and 100 millimeters so what size do i need?
i dont kno what they measure which is why im confused

do you know what those sizes measure, if you do you can still use a ruler and see how many mm the original, dont just buy one size your bike will be lopsided i think

the 80mm, 90mm and 100mm measure the amount of travel on a fork, the maximum distance the fork will compress. the amount of travel you need is up to you and what you do. most bikes have a maximum amount of fork travel that they will allow. you can find the max amount your bike will allow usualy on your bike, bike manual or maybe somewhere on line. different amounts of travel are used for different things: 50 to 100 for cross country, 80 to 100 for dirt jump, 120 to 160 for all mountain, 160 to 180 for free ride and 200 for down hilll. your forks will say the intended use on them or on their companies website.
