i thought that too. but the last commonwealth games was in my home city (melbourne) IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! there are usually heaps of free fun activities (for tourists, but they are fun). and you can go see the events live (i was diving and netball, it was awesome).
 
You're probably right. But some people want the new facilities, and some people think it would be cool to go to it. But if you're going to watch it on TV I don't see why it would matter. There is better ways to use Chicago's money then have the Olympics.
 
my whole family is very athletic, we love the competition. My question, why do we want the Olympics in Chicago? I guess I don't understand the importance....seems like a total waste of money to me....if I lived in Chicago, I know I definitely wouldn't want it there. Doesnt our country need other more important things, than the Olympics in CHicago?
