I love salmon but my roommate hates when I cook it because of the smell. What do I do?

I usually grill it in a pan on the oven top. That usually is the worst for smell. The smell always goes away after awhile, but it can linger for hours. I don't want to be inconsiderate.

I have tried broiling them (or what ever you call it) in the oven. Wrapped in a couple layers of aluminum foil. That helps a little but not enough.

Any ideas?
