I love me some streaming radio...

that's impressive....your life timer for data must be insane!...good thing that's wi-fi. Unless you had unlimited that would be a mighty expensive bill!

Lol, it's plugged in... though I don't think battery life on the n80 is as bad as everyone says... it's not the greatest, but I've used worse (*cough* 3650).

I DO have unlimited data... my record through T-mo is about 70mb in one sitting

I'm up at about 119 right now through WiFi though.

LMAO, Seattle actually, but the real reason for the insecure connection is that we had a power outage here a couple of weeks ago that randomly reset my router (thought it was fried for a minute lol), and I haven't bothered to setup WEP again, because I haven't felt like going through all the computers in the house and re-entering the key.

I'll get around to it eventually, but considering that both of the houses on either side of me are vacant (they both just sold), I'm not too concerned... besides, if someone wants to download on my connection, hell, more power to 'em!

The s60 internet radio is really a great app! You might want to add the playlist from http://www.e-series.org/archives/197 if you already haven't done so.

For any wi-fi connection, keeping WEP and keeping it insecure are almost really the same thing. It'll take a |-|4>

The likelihood of there being anyone close to a haxor in my neighborhood (or anyone bothering to wardrive it, since it's a dead end cul-de-sac) is somewhere between "no f***ing chance" and "when hell freezes over"

WEP is fine for most people for that reason, at least for home use.

Likewise, the probablity of a home invasion robbery is pretty slim, yet I bet you lock your doors.

WPA/WPA2 is very secure, and I find it easier to punch in a long passphrase over a WEP key (depending on the router).

Lol, the difference is that a.) even with someone getting on my wireless connection, trust me, they aren't going to be getting into my computers themselves, and b.) I don't have anything connected to the network anyway that I'm worried about, and c.) even if they COULD somehow get access to any of my machines, they'd get access only as a very limited user, since root is locked the **** down .

Oh, I understand.
I'm just concerned about people leeching off my connection. Least case scenario, they do a lot of p2p downloading and slow down my connection. Worst case, they download something like child pornography and the police come to my house because the IP resolves to me.

Have many of you got this to work properly? I've tried it on my 3250 before , some stations will start and play for 1-2 seconds then the phone crashes but most of the stations won't play, eg. the Euro dance channel gives me an "error connecting to server, could not receive shoutcast response Err=25" message. The All Hit 70's channel plays but thats about it.

It's hit or miss with some stations, but I've found that if you use alternate streams, it usually works... for example, the one I'm streaming above is Smoothbeats.com... there are about 9 different streams to choose from, and only 2 of them work... but those 2 work very well!

This app. does work with EDGE, however...I loaded on my Cingular E62 and the streaming worked fine, but when I tried to exit the program I got the white screen of death. I unloaded it after that. I am curious to see if anyone has used it on the E62 without the program crashing.
