I love/hate Indie Music

Love indie music? Does thinking of chris martin give you wood? Does a slightly distorted guitar make your heart beat faster? Do all the best banRAB have the word 'The' in their name?

Hate Indie Music? Do you wish to kill Tom Yorke? Does a 4/4 bass, bass, snare drumbeat make you want to beat your wife? Does an Em, C, G chord progression make you consider suicide?

Love or Hate with reasons. The funnier the better.

I wouldn't consider Radiohead or Coldplay 'indie' music.

And I can't say I love or hate it completely. Like....I think Interpol, Bloc Party, Secret Machines, The Stills, The Walkmen, etc...are fucking brilliant. But I can't stand this current 'new wave' indie revival either. Sure, The Bravery and Killers make some catchy songs, but come on...how many times can you rip off New Order?

Then again, it all goes in cycles, so more power to them. I love music....how about that?

I saw the Strokes one time when I was at Epcot Center. I was going to yell out, "hey, Strokes rock!" But I didn't, because I don't like them. I think they're gay and should probably stop singing songs about how their japanese selvage denim jeans fit just 'a little' too tight, or how Julian went down on Courtney Love and found out that her bush is as coarse as Gordon Lightfoot's Autumn beard. So I just kinda looked at them as they left, and went on my merry way to eat sushi followed by a funnel cake. And as the pains traversed through my stomach, I took solace in the fact that the stomachache I was experiencing was bliss compared to the sonic torture I would have felt, had I been at the Strokes show that night (I think they were playing the HOB in Orlando).

Fucking New York gaywad and his distorted microphone vocals. "HEY!! WE KNOW YOU'RE NOT SINGING OVER A TELEPHONE LINE, FUCKASS!!!"

Agreed. Radiohead is the band every "indie kid" enjoys, but will never admit. The term indie is totally going to shit. I often ask kiRAB who say they listen to indie music who they like and am in shock with the answer "Fall Out Boy" or something rediculous.

Interpol, Bloc Party and The Walkmen are more guitar-based. Guess I'm not that big a fan of synth-dominated music...

not saying I don't like The Killers, though. I just like the aforementioned banRAB better.
