Without a locksmith it will be almost impossible to change the ignition switch. To remove the ignition switch you must first turn the key to accessory. Even if you call AAA they will charge you to replace the switch or rekey it. I'd start saving.
 
...afford a locksmith? Ok...I work in the oilfield and after a night of drinking lost my keys somewhere..the locksmith will charge me close to 400 to go out there(its about 71 miles) and the dealer is about 250...I dont have that kinda cash right now and I need my car.
