I lost my yahoo address when att merged?

My account was with bellsouth for my e-mail. I had a favorite for yahoo.com with a sep. e-mail address and accessed it while Iwas in my e-mails thru the shortcut. I logged to the new merged portal and gave them my bellsouth e-mail address and lost my yahoo address.

I belong to a yahoo group BahamasGenealogyGroup. Now it doesn't recognize my old yahoo e-mail adress. I need help I can't get my genealogy e-mails.
