I lost my iPhone 3GS in the snow, is there a way I can use its GPS to find it?

I know what field I know I lost it in (roughly 100ft by 250ft). I tried looking for it while calling it from another phone, but I couldn't find it. Is there some locator thing I can use to get its EXACT location?
In the future I WILL install something on my iPhone can track it, but right now I can't use anything that requires something to be on the iPhone already
