lawyer? Where do I get the forms? My dad has property in San Antonio and Galveston that he transfered to my sister. But its too much for her to maintain and both of them agreed that it should be transfered to me since I have the best means to maintain his property. My sister is gladly ready to sign it over to my name but I dont know what/where the paperwork needed to facilitate the proccess.

Please help...

Why is it people don't want to pay a lawyer 250 to 500 bucks to transfer a deed, file, and make sure it is properly formatted and contains all the notice requirements by state and feds, but they are willing to pay a real estate agent 6 to 10 % ; 6 to 10 thousand dollars on a 100,000 house just o show it to somebody and write up a sales agreement.?

I am sure there are some forms online somewhere, but if you don't know everything you need to file to make it a legal transfer of deed, then the forms won't help you much.
