i like this boy - is he joking?

i like this boy quite alot & he said he liked me & we got really close since christmas...but not long ago his best mate said he liked me and asked me out. i said yeah cause i got fed up of waiting for the one i really liked to ask me but we only lasted a couple of days cause me and his mate had feelings for eachother. his best mate recently told me he still likes me and asked me to get back with him, i said dunno cause of the other boy.
my mates think they're joking around and to be honest i couldnt care less if 'the best mate' is but the other boy i do care if hes joking cause im fallin way to fast for him. i asked him but he swears he aint. what do you think?
 
Well i dont know them.... but its kinda unlikely i mean who jokes about stuff like that?
