the other day, i let my friend drive my car and she got pulled over. we are both in high school and there were four people in total in the car.

we were on our way back to school when she decides to speed down a residential neighbor hood at around 35-40mph. little did she know, the car that drove past us was an off duty police officer. the off duty police officer then signaled to an officer of the make out of our car.

we drove less then two blocks and we met up with a police officer waiting on the corner. at this time we were not speeding, but he decided to follow us. he followed us for maybe four blocks so we changed lanes. as soon as we changed lanes, he out on the lights and everyone in the car just started at each other.

the officer walks up to the car and asks if she has any identification, insurance and registration. she says no and that her lisence is in her car which is in our school parking lot, (we were also like 2 blocks away from our school) so she gives the officer a school identification card. she also says that the car is her step dads car and that she is just borrowing it. my friend asks the officer why she got pulled over and he says that a off duty police officer say us speeding. he says that this time he is going to let us go with a warning and that she isnt going to recieve a ticket.

so the officer goes back to his car and types the information into his car and sees that the driver, my friend is still under her provisional license which means she is not allowed to drive with anyone in the car. the officer come back and asks the passengers for there names and writes them down on a piece of paper. after that, he asks us to get out of the car and start walking to school..but asks the girl to say.

at this point, i thought my car was getting towed and my parents would have murdered me. my grandparents gave me the car, which is a range rover but the insurance and registration is still in there names. so technically, even i should not be driving it. oh and for the record, i am on my provisional as well

we start walking and all us are just speechless. i'm thinking the car is getting towed for sure and my grandparents are gonna kill me. we walk for about ten minutes and we see my friend come up behind us in my car. she shows us that she got a ticket and her license is suspended for 30 days, which is the rule in california if you are caught driving kids in your car before your year is up. so she shows me the ticket and i see that it is in her name, but also that underneath it, is my grandpa's name and the car model..who she said was her stepdad. so basically my grandparents are gonna think that i got a ticket and my license suspended and gonna flip the deck.

what do we do now?
