I left my croton plant outdoors in the cold and now the leaves are falling off....

...Can it be saved? Plant is now inside. It looks like I have 1 or 2 healthy stalks with leaves.

If you protect it from further freeze the plant will definitely put out new growth from the roots as well as new growth from the stalks with leaves.

Do not prune it, just continue to water occasionally if necessary and if it freezes again, protect it and you should not loose you plant.

Julie's right. I have one too but I brought mine in. It still is dropping some leaves but it is pretty cold. It's a tropical plant and much prefers higher temps. It's "makin do" with the low temps of winter. Don't worry. Keep it inside, cut back on watering and it will do just fine. I just love crotons.
