I know you don't care, but I'm saying it anyway.

i understand it

seeing as how OT was created after bush took office we've (the few og's) been bitching about bush the whole time.

when your guy isn't in office you're worried the whole time. "omg what's the other guy doing? how is the goal post moving?" when you guy is in office you don't give a shit. you generally feel secure in any decisions the administration makes

I'd like to see them take a softer attack tone as I think it'd win more seats. Especially if they actually hold middle right values.

Instead of heating up rhetoric...I think they'd gain a large volume of favor by just saying "hey, let's be realistic....we have to cut the budget so we can think about cutting taxes....we have to be the party of responsibility". That's really all they have to say. When they go really negative it sells to their base, but turns off middle America. Obama proved that. When you mention "because he's black" it should have been a sign that the Palin crowds that the news reported as slinging hate cost them a bit. It had less to do with Obama being black and more to do with who had a more positive message during a down time.

Actually that was more of an administrative backpedal from what I heard. Saying the permits were issued before the explosion and then modified after. That's business as usual during the moratorium. And they were drilling in even deeper waters after the explosion while his secretary was denying it was happening.
Moratorium definition

1) A period of time in which there is a suspension of a specific activity until future events warrant a removal of the suspension or issues regarding the activity have been resolved.

He really needs to put that in writing next time BEFORE he publicly states it as a fact.

.

At some point the bitchtastic threads become counterproductive.

The "OMG Obama is in Chicago for memorial day!!!!!" and "OMG Obama is a crook (or politician, same thing" threads begin obscuring the true problems.

That's why I brought up Bush- all the bitching about Halliburton obscured (IMO) the real issues- massive debt/uncontrolled spending and a failure to engage in the basic functions of government.

The petty threads provide evidence that the man in the chair has questionable judgement, but once you've proven that they become weeds choking the garden of intelligent discussion.
