...but can anyone tell me if it's really possible? I'd heard one needs to flash the EEPROm chip with a new imei which sounds really difficult to me.

I've also heard that some people can change the IMEI but they don't actually change the IMEI that is sent to the network, just the number that appears on screen when you press *#06#

Any help apprecited.

NB I'm NOT looking to change the IMEI or get anyone to do it or ask for help how to do it. I just want to know whether it can technically be done.
 
not possible.. you have to manually change the uem. the time and cost involved in this is not worth it. you better off buying another ligit iphone.
 
it supplied power to all madules and also contain the OTP imei information

OTP - one time programing
