I know these questions are really easy but I am bad at maths. can someone

please help me? i) (k+ 1/k)^2 -2
ii) Given that 2 + root 2 + 1/(2 + root 2) = 3 + root 2
and i) evaluate (2 + root 2)^2 + 1/((2 + root 2)^2)
I can do i) and I think the answer to ii) is 13 but I am not sure
