I have a 16 year old daughter and this time of year we normally try and figure what her big trip for summer will be. Last year we saved enough money to go to costa rica for an outward bound camp she loved the activities but the kids were horrible and she had to be rushed to the hospital because she got decompresion illness scuba diving. She had the same problem with the year before that with mean kids so we are looking for new outward bound type camps or anything like Wilderness Ventures ( a camp) - only things 1. no scuba diving, 2. no rock/glacier climbing 3. no extensive backpacking

she is 16 and in 10th grade loaction doesn't matter as long as it is politicaly stable

oh and no church camps! (you get the nastiest kids there it seems)
any ideas?

I remember going to camps where the kids were very mean. It wasn't until the year my mother died that the kids left me alone.

I put my son in a football camp because he is so into football. Maybe try looking for camps that are special to one of your daughters interests? That way she would meet kids that think the same? Just a thought.

It's unfortunate that kids can be so mean. I hear girls are bad. I hope you can find something your daughter will enjoy an remember for a lifetime. Good luck!
