...happens it doesnt? even show new hardware found. my phone did not come with a disc. When i hook up the usb cable it says please insert memory card. So my questions is do i need a memory card to upload music from my laptop to my phone? why dont it have phone memory instead of using the card? and how do i get the computer to regonize the the phone when i hook it up?
 
When you plug in your phone to the computer, it works just like a CD drive. If there is no disk or other media in the drive, the drive will show up but will tell that there is no media in the drive. Yes, you do need to get a memory card. Obviously, your phone doesn't have memory built in that is compatible with computer interface. Make sure the driver is installed and up to date in device manager too and STFU.
 
To connect your phone to a computer you need a micro sd card or micro sdhc (I prefer the sdhc more memory if your phone is compadible with sdhc) because a phone wont let u use the little memory it has for contacts. A micro sd card or mircro sdhc card is cheap to buy i bought a 4 gb sdhc card from future shop for $20. When you get a card you have to format it (someone from the store where you bougt the card can help you) and remember to go into usb mode on the phone.
 
your service provider can sell you software and usually the usb plug to use with it, it probably takes one with a chip on the cord
