If Johnny's answer turns out to be true, that would be hilarious. The biggest rib on the wrestling fans of all-time.
The truth is Hogan wants a "Monday Night War" because he thinks he's bigger than the wrestling business itself and he wants to be the one to do something nobody else has been able to, not even the U.S. Government, and that's defeat Vince McMahon and put him out of business.
Dixie Carter has bought into Hogan's propaganda and believes HE is what TNA needs to become the number one wrestling company in the world.
But January 4 is just an experiment. TNA, for one night only, is airing Impact opposite of RAW to see how well TNA will do against Vince's "flagship" show. TNA is planning too many sweeping changes to their shows to risk it all in an all-out war with the WWE at this point. It's possible that in the future TNA will make a full-on head-to-head assault on the WWE, but right now they're not ready for that.
