at Ashcroft. Can I sue? They never would have gotten my permission to show it. I was graduating and that jerk was the speaker and I thought it was funny to make faces at the stupid stuff he said. Well I didn't know I was being filmed by Fox News! So my friend sent me the video that he found online somewhere. I'm not happy about it. It could affect getting a new job or something! Could I sue them for that?

The only thing you could sue for in a case where something is shot in public is libel.

A libel suit only holds water if the footage was tampered with, i.e. you weren't really making faces at that idiot (yes I think he is an idiot, much like you obviously), or if the story they publish was false, like if they say that you said Ashcroft was the worst attorney general ever, unless you did, in fact, say that.

Savvy?

Oh, by the way, if you do what you believe to be right, you will have no problem standing by your actions. But on the issue of making faces at Ashcroft, I doubt anyone will disagree with the fact that he is an idiot.

Sue whom?

For what?

They filmed you at a public event in a public place.

Now you know better.
