it was furry on all 4's legs, slow, short, 15 - 30 pounds, about 3 - 4 feet long (it was about the size of a medium sized dog) all tan fur, (didnt see the tail too good)
what makes it freaky: it was the size of a medium dog, (was not a mounatin lion) it had a big behind section not like a ball or oval shape but mor like a cylinder, (when it walks) when it stops it scrunches up into mor of a ball shape. weird part: it has a 1 foot long narrowing towards the head kind of neck with a head the size of a softball (maybe bigger) basically: get a cylinder, put on a foot long cone shaped paper neck with a ball on the end & voila, what We saw.
We saw it at night. it was on a hill behind our house near the woods. there is no trash/trash cans or containers up there. it didnt act like it was looking for prey like another animal. it didnt notice Us in our kitchen window, lights on, making sumthing to eat. so apprently it isnt very observent. we hav goundhogs where we live but not THAT big. no water areas within a short distance where We live now, weve seen a mountain lion before, but this was sumthing completely different. the way it looked, its size, the way it moved & acted, did not match up with a mountain lion profile. it looked like it was looking for bugs, grass or sumthing. it was looking at the ground most of the time cept for when it moved. it wasnt sniffing, it was spending too much time in 1 spot/area for meer sniffing.
& it wasnt a dog.
what was it???
We live in north america, north carolina, smoky mountains. wasnt a coyote. it was low to the ground.
it was not a armadillios, hav virtually no existent nekcs. what WE saw had a 1 foot long neck.
wasnt a bobcat. it was low to the ground. if it was a high as a bobcat, we weudv known & seen that.
wasnt a lynx either. it wasnt a possum, its way too big for a possum. it actually looked like, to me, a huge HUGE tan ferret.
