I just moved into a four bedroom house near my old house, however, I am already dealing with some minor problems. (1) In one of the bedrooms, there is no electricity flowing through the plugs; therefore, no electricity to connect any house appliance! (2) In the next bedroom - which is connected to the bathroom - I cannot use any electricity in the room without leaving the lights in the bathroom on. (3) The backyard in infested with fleas and ticks.
These are just some of the problems with the house, but they are one I really need solved.
I've already attempted to speak with the landlord regarding these problems, however, he does not want to fix anything. So he suggested I leave the house, and he will return $300 of my $`1000 deposit.
Is there anything I can do? Is the law on my side? Please help!

- Rent is $1500 per month
- I just signed a one year lease
- The landlord did not warm me of any problems that the house has
