You need to look at the job description of the Financial Advisor and see if it is what your accounting background taught you. Is this really what I want to do. Otherwise, keep searching for a job. You could
ask them if it also goes towards the experience you need.
There are financial adviser jobs and then there are financial adviser jobs (read salesman). Which one is this? The latter is probably not suited to someone who wishes to pursue accounting. The former might be. Jobs these days are not all that easy to come by. It might be a long while before you actually find an accounting job, maybe.
