I just got screwed by the police

Evan, thanks for the input. I am going to start with the "discovery route" and adjust accordingly with my lawyers advice. I have a few plays on this, but I have to find the "sweet spot."

Johnny, you're right, there is 2 sides and that is why I love living in America. I am given the chance to speak and be heard. Having rights and free will are some pretty powerful weapons.

Thanks to all who have sounded off. My court date is 8 weeks away and I will keep you posted for those who care.

Since most speed limits are arbitrarily set and arbitrarily enforced, and their enforcement is mostly just a revenue stream for the municipality and not a means to increase the safety of the general public, I say speed away and fight like hell when you get cited. But running red lights, illegal turns, weaving around while chatting and texting? Get those assholes off the road!

That's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

My advice after working in the law enforcement field is this: By all means go to court. The officer will have to appear and chances are he won't remember jack about your case specifically. I have done many "trials by affidavit" and they, too, are a pain the rear for the officers. Most law enforcement officers are required to keep a "daily log" in which they write down the specifics of each stop and citation. The written citation is not enough. If the officer is required to keep one, ask the court to see it. If anything in his personal log conflicts with the facts, chances are the case will be dismissed. Next, have your speedo checked by an authorized speedo shop. If it is in error, have them submit a written statement to that effect. Lastly, I am not in law enforcement anymore precisely because many of the officers I worked with were jerks. Inspite of there not being monthly quotas for citations, our supervisor had "expectations" which were to be met. Some officers even had "contests" to see who could write the most citations. Stick with it and don't be intimidated. Challenge the system and don't assume that the cops are always right, just because they have the guns!!

Cory,

That's not a problem with my camera. The 907ie Ducati Red is known for having a slightly pinkish hue to it. The color is almost impossible to replicate. All 907ies have a pink primer coat under the gloss red. The pic doesn't really do the color justice, but IMO, the 907ie Ducati Red is the most beautiful red ever put on a Ducati.

You have a Ducati 1098 that can out run any police crusier. Why did you ever stop? Members like, "mrinflux" will defend you, that's how they make a living. By the way, "mrinflux", we do live in the greatest country on Earth. More than likely, you just haven't ever lived anywhere else. If you think the good ol' USA is a "police state", you have a very limited world view. In the USA, we enjoy immeasurable rights under the law. Where I've lived, the police will shoot you for not paying a bribe or arrange for your untimely death. That's why I moved back here. As for Desmo Duc, I'm sorry for your situation. I hope the best for you.
