Of what I remember,,, The 98 gixxer 600 was the top 600 of the time. competed with 750's on the track and whipped most 750's on the street. Now this was in Suzuki's high of their motorcycle age. All of their bikes dominated. The 750 competed pro in the 1000 class and took most races in 1997, the 98 model was slower!! (they added fuel injection) However the 600 was always King of the 600's and like I said whipped most 750's until the R6 came around. That's about the time I quit riding
However Suzuki is still top dog, The R1 is a monster but still cant take down the Gixxer 1000.
