i just got a HTC snap and i need help!?

i just got the HTC snap and i have a few questions, first can you change how text messages save? because right now if i text some one all of the text from that person is under their name. Second how do you get apps? and third is there a way to keep the keypad light on longer, mine goes out and doesn't go back on sometimes. well thank you
