I hurt my back about 6 years ago at work. I went through every pain management treatment possible. Injections, PT, pain pills, I seen a chiropractor, acupuncture, and eventually surgery. I was told that I was misdiagnosed because I was born with an extra disc. I didn't think it was that big of deal. Last week my lawyer sent me a letter telling me they were closing my file, and would be destroying it unless I wanted it. I decided to get it. When I was reading through my chart I found that I only have 11 ribs! Shouldn't they have told me this? It seems like it might be helpful to know! It says in one part from the surgeon, "she has four lumbarized vertebrae and S1 is partially sacralized. However, she only has 11 ribs. The disk herniation level is going to be called L4-S1, but could also be considered L4-L5 if you consider five lumbarized vertebrae"
Why was I never told about this? Isn't this something that at least 1 of the doctors should have told me? Going through my medical history, 3 different doctors commented on me only having 11 ribs, yet none of them told me. Does this cause any health problems? Should I be worried? Anyone else missing ribs?!?! lol
Thanks everyone!
