I just brought a stationary bike, and was wondering how long I should spend on it each day to achieve some good weight loss results?
I am homeschooled so I have alot of time on my hands.
Thanks a bunch

the general rule is after 20 minutes of exercise is when you start to really burn calories

in my opinion, you should go on it everyother day and ride untill you are tired
you should start to see results in 2-3 weeks

Do it until you feel bored or get pain in your knees, ankles, or butt. Any longer than that and you won't want to keep up with it, and that's money in the trash. Make a note of how long you use it each time and the distance you've gone, it's really motivating and ensures a consistent workout. Your weight loss also depends on your speed. If you go fast for a couple minutes and a slow/regular pace for a couple minutes, then repeat for your whole session, you burn extra fat and calories. Just look up 'interval training', it's the new craze.
I also suggest making it fun by listening to your favorite songs and club remixes. When you're singing along in your head, the time goes by a lot faster.

If your physician approves, I would begin a regular program that starts slow and builds toward aerobic exercise exercise period of one hour per day, five days per week.

During this exercise period, you should keep your heart rate within a comfortable aerobic zone. You can look up the 'aerobic heart rate' on the Internet to determine how fast your heart should beat and verify that with your physician. For me, it's between 130 and 135 beats per minute.
