The question is kind of moot.
Cars are not like TV or electronics. The life of a car is VERY MUCH dependent on how it was treated and maintained.

I have a 1994 Civic EX with 188K miles on it. The engine + tranny + suspension rides like new. And I suspect the car can run another 100K miles (easily). But if I gave that car to my sister, she would run it into the ground in months.
So the more important question is this: What is a good maintenance schedule for you to own that car for a LONG time.
