I insulted my interviewer .. pls help?

guys i insulted my interviewer last week during my interviewer and already sent him a interview follow up thank you note. But i didnt apologize in the first note - so now i am thinking of sending this other note to him - pls tell me if it sounds ok ?

I interviewed with you on xyz 2008 for the Software Engineer position. I wanted to apologize for my behavior during the interview. I made an unprofessional remark saying that "you were not the CEO of the company". I certainly didn't mean to disrespect you and do realize your position in the company as being a very important one. Please accept my apology. I truly enjoyed talking with you and learning about the company from you. I would be pleased to be a part of your team should I get an opportunity. Thank you again for giving me the chance to meet with you and your team. (does it sound desperate ? me sending emails back to back)
 
I think you might have to let that job go and take it as a lesson for the next opportunity you get. I wouldn't hire you after that, thankyou note or not. How do I know after hiring you that you won't act like that again, then apologize later? Sounds like you got a little too big for your boots a little too early.
