I hooked to many speakers to my stereo now its not working?

i hooked to many speakers to my stereo and now its not workin. I kno the speakers work because we hooked them up to another system. Im thinkin that we blew something since we had 4 speakers hooked to it and were only suppose to have 2 in it but im not sure. If you have an idea of how to fix it please help me out!!
