Channel 3 should be coming out of the VCR, so that's what the TV should stay on. If your cable is not connected to a cable box, just into the VCR, it may of may not be able to tune it. If you can switch the VCR input to "cable" instead of "Antenna", it might tune cable channels. If you use a cable box, leave the VCR and TV on channel 3 and tune your channels with the cable box. You might have to swith the VCR to either "TV" or "VCR", however it happens to work. When it's on "VCR" you can watch tapes. When it is on "TV" it will just put the signal through as if it is a wire instead of a VCR. Then you can use the tuner in the TV to select channels. This will work if your TV is "cable ready". When that's the case, adjust the TV to reveive "Cable" instead of "antenna" or "air". I hope you still have all the instruction books and remotes.
