I'm beginning to think that dairy products are a cause for my acne. If I take Calcium and Vitamin A supplements, equivalent to whats in milk (and also get protein, carbs, and fat from other sources) will I be set? Or is there anything else from milk I will need to take as a supplement? Or... is milk the only option for someone who wants to grow. I'm not considering soy milk because I've heard bad things about it, and I'm sketchy on goats milk. Help and input would be appreciated.

From what I've read, it's the hormones in milk that might be related to acne in some people, so I'd suggest trying organic milk and other dairy products. You can buy them in regular supermarkets now. Horizon is one brand that I buy for my family--and you can get it in milk, yogurt, cheeses, etc. The cows are not fed synthetic hormones, antibiotics, or pesticides.

If you only want to take supplements, then I would suggest calcium and possibly Vitamin D, which is added to milk.

But that just means no hormones are added. There are still hormones regularly found in milk.

Yep, there is no such thing as hormone-free milk. But I've read it's the *added* hormones that may be related to acne in some people.

If you're looking for other non-dairy sources of calcium, you can eat veggies such as spinach, peas, broccoli, calcium-fortified OJ, etc.
