I have lost ALL engine oil TWICE due to the Oil pressure sensor failure.. twice replaced ..Is this " normal" for this truck. I think the engine is wiped out this time !!!!
from full on the dip stick
PS I should have explained this better! The SENSOR itself comes apart and dumps the oil completely within 3 to4 mins thru the sensor housing/casing !!!

no its not normal, you either have a leak or your piston rings are severely worn to cause that much leakage, and not to point fingers but you should not have relied on your sensor,a check once a week or before and after a longer drive, and it may not have even been the sensor. and oil sensor will still register some pressure due to the normal pressure of inside an engine.I would say that old that many miles its probably your piston rings.try using a heavier weight synthetic oil ,just don't get durabrand oil its a ripoff it is nothing but regular oil mixed with baby oil.you need something thick to help seal your pistons and something with friction modifiers.

No. I had a horrible 1973 ford f100 and even it did not do that...you should check your rear main seal, or a cracked piece for a leak, you may need some oil leak fix product (lucas is good) if not, you are in deep trouble and should find a new ride.
