I have Verizon. Can I buy and use a Blackberry Torch?

Right now my cousin has a Rouge. I was looking to get him a Blackberry Torch. He has Verizon. Is it possible? This probably sounds really dumb to most of you but I'm really confused. Thanks guys sorry about this..
