I personally think Poe is a hard one to follow. The language he uses is old English, and his mood in the poem goes from mere desperate sorrow to no way out. I'm not even sure why some people consider the Raven to be so scary.....? What I get from it is him being melancholy over this Lenore person, and when the Raven comes he's like an omen constantly reminding him of his sorrow over her until it is permanant. And "Never more" meaning "And you'll be happy never more." Like his mind had produced this visual aspect of his sorrow over her.......and he was unable to get rid of it. I don't know. That's what I get from it, but I'm not a big Poe lover. I tried to read his work, but all it did was give me a headache. Wish I could be of more help. Good luck on it.
