I have to do a pesonal statement for law school...?

...and I went online one day to see examples of other people's personal statements. To be honest they look really good, like the person who wrote it was already an attorney. I was wondering if everybody has to be at the same level or just be yourself and write about it. Do all the law school require you to have a statement? Also, any tips on how to prepare for the LSAT exam, mine is in June of this year so i am trying to prepare for it but i don't know really where to start. It is also hard to ask people because for some strange reason they don't tell you the truth. Does anybody have any advice as to how to write the personal statement? Does it have to be true? Or should i write something that i know they will like, because to be honest my life has not been very interesting for me to write a paper about it and attract the reader. Any advice at all would be really appreciated. Thank you!!!
 
I am applying to law school myself so I have done a TON of research on this subject.

Most law schools will require you to have a personal statement. In this paper try and tell the school what it is about you that makes you a good candidate. Include your academic achievements, work experience, etc. Do not lie on this statement. Just be yourself and do a good job.

As far as the LSAT exam goes this is one of, if not the most important, part of applying to law school next to your undergraduate GPA. You need to take this exam seriously and do your best. If I was in your position I would quit my job and study all day long everyday until exam day, it's THAT important. You have a few options on how to go about studying, but I would suggest enrolling in a program like Princeton Review or Kaplan. These companies thoroughly go over the exam and what you can expect and I believe they would be able to help you a great deal. They are kind of expensive (1,000+), but I believe its worth it to get every advantage you can get going into the exam.

I would suggest checking out the book called "Law School Confidential". It really helped me out.
