I have Telus TV and internet service. Can I stream video from my laptop to the TV box?

Actually, they have been encrypting the MPEG4 streams for some time.

I don't think you can stream from your computer. You need a separate media extender for that.

The modem is connected to my telephone jack (I'm not signed up on a landline phone service), and the TV box is connected to it via LAN connection, and there are 3 spare LAN jacks also, and the computers can get internet on LAN as well. It also is a wireless modem so we just use that feature instead for our computers.

Ok I heard the video stream the servers stream to us is un-encrypted MPEG-4 format video, and can be viewed with other boxes and computers, and changing channels is simply done by sending a command out to the servers.... SO.... Can I stream MPEG-4 video from my laptop to my TV box for viewing on my TV on occasion via Laptop--->LANcable--->TVbox?
Ok then the encryption must be easily decoded(?) if some people are able to view the stream on their computer or switch boxes... And what is a media extender?
