I have sinned

Today I tried (ok, I bought) the windows mobile phone the DASH. I am returning it as we speak. I have an addition to phones but never have I returned a phone the same day I got it. Windows really makes bb look real good. Am I forgiven?

Just for grins what didn't you like about the Dash? The fact that it is Windows based?

I was debating whether to get the Dash or the Pearl. I think I made the right decision as I love the Pearl. The guy at TMO told me that he was rebooting his Dash at least twice a day. There are some neat PocketPC apps, but the Blackberry has come a long way.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~thanks for the heads up zmin, I think you'll be forgiven the sooner you get your hands on a bb!!

But please do tell us more about the dash, and the reason you returned it.thanx

your penance will be to send 4 BB messenger messages, download 3 OTA Appps, Add 2 tips you found with your now BFF BB, and remember in the future what the #1 Phone slash PDA in the world.

Zimi Zimi Zimi..... For all have sinned and fallen short of the grace of the Blackberry. You have confessed my son.... You are forgiven...... Welcome back to the fold........

How's it feel to be back????? lolol

I have a Samsung i730 (which I just got working with push email and like much better now) and on the pdaphone boards they are pretty anti-BB. Can you help me understand the difference? I am a non-enterprise user. Just a humble gmail user and micro-business owner.

YOU NEED TO "PAY HOMAGE" TO ALL BB USERS ON THIS SITE.NOW!!! I NEVER THOUGHT ANYONE ONE WOULD STOOP SO LOW. I BASH MY BOSS ALL DAY FOR PURCHASING A TREO700.ALL THAT WINDOWS AND TOUCH SCREEN IS TOO MUCH OVERKILL. ANYWAY I'm NEW TO THE SITE, AS LONG AS YOU GET A 8700BLACKBERRY YOU ARE FORGIVEN. REMEMBER 8700-8700-8700-8700-8700-8700-8700-8700

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~hi auramae welcome to rabroad. I am sorry I can't answer your question but somebody who can should be along shortly.

For those of you who bash Windows Mobile, keep in mind that while many WM devices require rebooting many times per day, they also seamlessly integrate with Windows in a way that no other device can. Out of the box functionality for the user who wants easy access to and editing of office documents, email, etc is unparalleled. We poor BB users can't edit an office document on the go without spending a wad of cash on a specialised programme. Also consider this: WM devices are easily included in Enterprise servers, whereas any business that wishes to use Blackberries needs to invest in BES, which is an additional complication (deploying WM devices allows them to maintain their existing Enterprise servers without additional work).

there is no shame in trying to improve ones situation.

i try to keep an open mind about all new tech. "a healthy portion of excitement, tempered with a sense of "what works" will keep ones mind fresh."

First off- you guys are hilarious.
Secondly- Zim; good call.
& third- I've owned several windows mobile devices including the:hp ipaq 6315 ppc 6600, ppc 6700, smt 5600, htc 2125, 3125, 8125 and the hp 6515 mobile communicator.

And I have to agree with pentacle. Windows devices are just too much. I don't need my phone crashing on me like 3 times a day. I don't need a touch screen that attracts dust like a ceiling fan. I don't want to have to run to a computer, download an executable and extract the .cab file just to install an app on my device. I don't want to have to download a special program just so I don't have to cycle thru 40 sub-menus just to close a running app. I don't want my phone dying on me after 2 hours of consecutive use. I don't want wi-fi on a device that only has a 195 mhz processor. I don't want to have to reg edit my device just to disable that annoying message sent notiification. I don't want to have to download a third party file manager and then physically go in and delete files that were left behind from an app that I thought I fully removed. I don't need a flashy *** ui on my device if its going to slow down the performance of the device. I don't want internet explorer. Shall I continue?

I mean, RIM makes life easy right "out of the box." That's all I have to say.
