Hi -- my MRI came back "fine" when I first had back pain 12 years ago - it wasn't until two years ago (and many, many procedures) that I went for a second opinion (don't ask - if it was one of my children or my husband, I would've INSISTED on a second opinion). I found out I had two facet joints on my left side that were completely degenerated. I had a trufuse procedure (no hardware involved) a few months ago, and am doing much better. Still have pain, but not excrutiating and not down my legs. There is something wrong - it's not in your head. I know it's exhausting and frustrating, but please try to get a second opinion from a neurologist if you haven't already. Pain down the leg means nerve problems, not muscular problems. Take care.
