I have recently been reading a good crime novel series but now im bored.?

Ok, iv been reading a series of crime novels by cosy McFadyn, i think the authers called. Iv read shadow man, face of death and the darker side, i can't currently find the fourth and final book and im bored as iv nothing else to read :/

Has anyone any good crime novels that they've read which follows the charecters personally as well as at work and is actually good?
 
There is the insanely popular Alex Cross series following and FBI detective and murders, etc. That series is by James Patterson. And also, just about anything by James Patterson is a crime/mystery. You'd like them!
