I have received a note from an "agent" saying they are coming for a pre-bailiff

appointment. does anyone know? know what this means? i have an old debt that i was unable to pay and the court set out out payments which I have been making however the only way i can pay is by postal order as i dont have a cheque book and i have asked them repeatedly for bank details so i can pay by direct debit but they wont give me any. Anyone know what my rights are here and what I can do as far as Im aware i have not missed any payments but i have no acknowledgement they receive my payments and equally nothing to say that they havent received them if they have gone astray anywhere. thanks for yr help

Michael D is right. I add that you see the CAB asap, just to be sure of your rights. See post office perhaps they have a record of cashed postal orders.
Do not let them in your house - if you open the door and they put a foot or hand inside then they can legally enter. So keep door locked if they turn up. They have to have a police constable with them to enter except when you open the door. Bailliffs are usually friendly these days so dont worry.

Send a letter to the Agent. Requesting what they want in writing or phone the agent. Also ask for there bank details. Do not let them in, unless there is a police officer with them and have a warrant. I do hope you have kept all the postal order counter foils.
