- Why did the German's want to surrender to the Western allies and not to Russia?
- Germany proposed surrender to the Western allies, while continuing to fight on the Eastern Front. Why was this not acceptable to the United States?
- Which countries surrendered to Russia?
- Predict the problems that the allies and the world would face as a result of WW2? Use evidence, and be specific.
- What caused a rift between the western allies and the Russians?
- Why did the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor?
- How did the war end in the Pacific? More specifically, how did the United States finally stop the Japanese?

*If you can answer the questions perfectly please do....thanks for all the help!!!!
oh yea and also...there are some people who have helped me quite a bit and i thank u yet again...but to those who think i am trying to catch up..well i am not....i am just asking these questions for myself so i can later be able to noe about it in school...i created these questions myself...so please dont just say that the "method" tht i am using is unacceptable and all tht crap.

the Americans invaded Okinawa, then dropped two atomic bombs, in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. thats all i know without an outright guess, sorry. :-s

I have a Doctorate and a Masters and I can't answer these questions "perfectly."
You obviously have covered a lot of ground in class and now want to catch up using this method. It won't work. You'll forget it the day you turn it in.
You MUST learn it for yourself.
And you're asking a lot of strangers. Most of whom get paid for a semester's worth (at least) of teaching this stuff.

This just about covers the entire history of WW II. Watch some documentaries. There are lots available even on Netfilix, which is dirt cheap.

Yipes perfectly?

The Germans had fought the Soviets longer than anyone else, and they didn't want to face the terms they would get from them.

There were to be no terms other than unconditional surrender, this principle had been established by the late President Roosevelt, and after the campaign waged by the Brits and the US, neither Ike or Monty were in the mood to go easy on the Germans.

The Germans and the Japanese surrendered to all the Allies. I think Rumania may have surrendered to the Soviets.

The biggest problem was Joe Stalin. Well, to be fair, the "great Patriotic war" was devastating to the USSR, and they had some reason to want a buffer zone between them and the west. The Red Army had conquered most of Eastern and Central Europe before the Germans surrendered. The Soviet sphere of influence, after the war, was to include the areas they were in control of at the cessation of hostilities. They kept the areas they controlled, but they had promised to hold free democratic elections, which they failed to do. The demand that they do so, on the part of President Truman, helped to precipitate the Cold War.

The Japanese struck the US Navy in an effort to knock the US out of the war at the beginning, or at least to give them a year to gain control of the western Pacific, before the US could get back in it.

The war ended in the Pacific with the surrender aboard the USS Missouri on September 2, 1945. What prompted the Japanese to surrender was the use of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These took place on August 6 and August 9. They agreed to surrender on the 16th. The Emperor had made the decision, and made a recording to be played on NHK the radio station. There is some indication that an assassination attempt was made by hard line militarists to prevent him from doing so.

For question one beacuse germany didnt want to become communist For question 2 Beacuase the U.S. thought they would attack the western front again.
