I keep seeing this argument that people in Canada cannot have the choice of their doctor, some bureaucrat in Ottawa (that's the capitol) gets to choose who you see.
I am curious where this comes from.
Because it doesn't happen.
When I lived in Canada, I asked my doctor if he could be my family doc over wings and beer.
Not a bureaucrat in sight.
I never had to deal with any insurance companies, never had to file claims, always got excellent care, even when I had to do 8 months of chemo for liver cancer.
